I convinced Bethany to come downtown with me so we could watch the parade and I could practice filming. As this was a low light setting, finding the right balance of ISO and aperture size was a fun challenge. Add to that manually focusing on moving objects without a follow focus (needs to be higher on my list!). My biggest issue tended to be underexposing by about a full stop. I increased the exposure a bit on quite a few of the shots in post, but when shooting with 1000 ISO this is going to add a bit more noise and noticeable loss of detail. While shooting with the 50mm f/1.2 I had no excuses since I had plenty of extra usable ISO. I shot most clips around f/2, ISO 1000, and shutter at 1/50.

Haha, I love the t-rex. I missed the parade due to the parking disaster and having to be somewhere at 8, so I’m glad you captured it.
thanks! The t-rex was my favorite too…the parking was gross, we parked at Cummins station…
