Before Beth and I moved into our new house I started to get back to making music. This ended up being more of a joke, but it’s a start. Now that we are getting settled into our new home I’m excited to get back to writing.
I bought a hand made point-to-point blackface fender twin/vintage marshal (2 sides of the circuit) clone back in my TTU days (7 years ago?). It’s not the most amazing amp in the world, but you can’t say it’s not unique.
It slowly died for the second time about a year ago (2 blown resistors) and was recently resurrected at Corner music here in Nashville. When I brought it in to get it fixed my intentions were to sell it upon repair. The amp repair guy said he loved the sound and mentioned I might want to hold on to it…so that I may.
The night after I got it back I spent about 2 hours coming up with this little ditty. I decided to leave the first half pretty raw (almost zero eq and very light compression) to enjoy the amp. It’s mic’ed with one sm57.
