I’m annoyed by people who say they are things they are not (or speak about themselves in the third person). With this in mind I think I will just let this site speak for myself when it comes to my creative endeavors.
If you must know more (really, who does?), here is an abbreviated history lesson on Kelsey…
Grew up in Spring Texas, started college off at Texas Tech University studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Loosing interest during the third year (read: became much more interested in music) I decided to transfer to Belmont University in Nashville to study music production. There I received a BS in Music Business with a emphasis in production. After graduation I started my own recording studio. I then learned starting your own recording studio is not a great way to make money, especially these days when everyone thinks that a computer + microphone = studio. Two years of producing, mixing, and mastering various genres (rock/CCM/country/Jazz) I came to the realization that the music industry is a long road to success. A long road which I had not only just started on, but was bored.
This is when I decided all that boring engineering/cs stuff wasn’t so bad after all. I dove into PHP, picked up JS/CSS, and got a contracting job leading to a full time web development position. I specialized in advanced JavaScript, CSS, templating, design, analytics, application design and media streaming.
Since music was now on the back burner, I decided to fill my creative void by buying my wife a DSLR :) Nature, candid, fashion, studio, wedding…it didn’t really matter what kind, it was all a blast to learn. At some point I discovered Greg Williams, by far one of my favorite photographers turned director and producer of video. This inspired me to start some creative video projects which are now possible with my new dslr with video capabilities (yes, I just saw you roll your eyes…everyone and their dslrs).
Now my next endeavor is to create a short film. This is a disgusting amount of work but I am excited none-the-less. Meow.
